Swazi is quite the legacy brand in New Zealand and Europe and has earned itself a reputation for providing well built and reliable hunting outerwear. But its presence has been quiet in New Zealand, until recently with its new ownership. And with a new marketing team reclaiming its stake in the market, they reached out to CASO Creative to help produce some imagery for their new winter catalog.
When our photography services are employed, we do more than just click a button. We’re here to help guide a brand towards what’s needed in those images to balance authenticity with desired assets. There’s a lot of steps we take to ensure that from location, talent, props, image composition and more. Like knowing when to use a spotting scope to facilitate in showing a feature in a jacket—messing up a campsite a bit—getting some banter going between the talent to capture genuine laughs. There’s so many nuances to capture to make sure an image tells a genuine story and that also gives context for the product details captured around that moment.
This shoot was a damn good time and we certainly didn’t need any spray bottles to create a raining effect, instead we made the West Coast our shooting location.
Amongst the photography, we also had a request to capture some video to create a short brand film. Although it wasn’t our focus, it was still a cost effective way for plenty of video assets to be used in paid digital advertising.
